He won the rookie of the year (ROTY). HE also made the All NBA first team 10 times and he also made it in his rookie year. He was drafted by the Minneapolis Lakers which is know known as the Los angles Lakers. -

In 1960 a man named Oscar Robertson was drafted. HE was drafted by the Cincinnati royals. They are know known as the Sacramento kings. He won the ROTY award and after just playing 2 seasons in the NBA he won the MVP award something Elgin never did. Then in 1970 he got signed by the Milwaukee bucks.The first year he played for the Bucks he won the NBA championship with him also something Elgin never did. Over his career he average 25 points and 9 assist per game. -
A legend has been drafted
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was drafted in 1969 by the Milwaukee bucks. He played 6 seasons with them then went to the Lakers where he would finish his 20 season career. He averaged 24 points and 11 rebounds per game. He made it to the all star game 19 times, won 6 championships and 6 MVP awards. He was also a 2 time finals MVP. He is definitely one of the best #1 overall picks of all time. -
One of the first NBA busts of all time
Pervis Ellison one of the worst NBA first picks. He averaged 9 points and 1 assist and 6 rebounds per game. If you thought that was bad he didn't have one all star appearance or any awards throughout his career accept for 1 player of the week award. He played only 10 seasons and was out a whole year with an injury. He played for 4 teams, the Kings, the Washington Wizards, the Boston Celtics and the Seattle supersonic now known as the Oklahoma city thunder. -
Michael Olowokandi was drafted
Michael Olowokandi was drafted in 1998 by the LA Clippers. He was another bust in the NBA. His carrer stats are 8.3 ppg 6.8 RPG and .7 APG. He was drafted over Dirk Nowski, Paul Pierce and Vince Carter. These names went out and won chmapionships for thier team and future Hall of famers while Michael Olowokandi never has done anything. No awards no championships nothing. Hopefully next time the LA clippers make the right draft choice besides picking one the worst players to ever play in the NBA -

In 2013 the Cleveland Cavaliers drafted Anthony Bennett one of the worst #1 overall picks of all time. His career averages are 4.4 PPG 3.1 RPG and .5 APG. He hasn't played more then 55 games in a season(there are 81 games in a NBA season). He was drafted over Giannis Antetokounmpo (\YAHN-iss ah-deh-toh-KOON-boh) which people are saying are going to be the next greatest player.
