The Revolutionary War began in Lexington , Massachusetts . It also began at Concord, Massachusetts . The British vs The Settelers. The Settlers were the people who lived in America. Some Settlers were called Loyalists ; who aggreed with the British and respected them. While some were called Patriots ; who wanted to be free from the British rule. -

The Second Continental Congress met in Pennsylvania to discuss what to do next. This was a very important meeting because the delegates took it upon themselves to decide whether or not to seek independence from Great Britain. -
Common Sense
January 10th 1776 Thomas Paine wrote Common Sense. Common Sense stated that the colonies should declare their Independence from Britain. -

1777 September 11th and October 4th ( The Battles begin)
The British won the Battle of Germantown & Brandywine. George Washington had 16,000 men but most were dead or injured after the battle. -
The Wyoming Massacre
During The Revolutionary War, a battle in Wyoming Valley , Pennsylvania killed 360 Americans. Forty Fort was a place where American women and children stayed at during the battle. -

The Articles of Confederation was adapted by ALL the states. The British surrenders Yorktown, Virginia. They gave up to the US and French Troops. -
