    President Woodrow Wilson signed the "Organic Act," creating the National Park Service.

    Before the National Park Service all the historical areas and monuments were managed by the War and Agriculture Department's. In 1933 this all changed when the National Park Service became a thing.

    In 1993 the US was in the middle of the great depression. President Franklin D Rosevelt wanted to put people to work. He put people to work through Conservation Corps while also conserving the country's natural resources. For every $1.00 invested in the National Park System it returns to $10.00 for the US economy.
