Rosa Parks
On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks was arrested in Montgomery, Alabama for not giving up her seat for a white person in a bus that had seats for blacks and seats reserved for white people. Martin Luther King Jr.
On August 28th 1963, Martin Luther King delivered his “I have a dream” speech. It brought even greater attention to the Civil Rights Movement, which had been going on for many years. King's speech was part of the March on Washington, a gathering of more than 250,000 people in the nation's capital. African-Americans still were not treated as equals.
