First Moon Landing Ever
On this historical day, Neil Amstrong became the first human to step on the Moon surface. It was then when he pronounced his famous words: "one small step for man, one giant leap ".
The spacecraft used to take Amstrong and his two colleagues to the moon was called Apollo 11. -
Challenger disaster
NASA's "Challenger" space shuttle burned up after lift-off killing all crew members on board. -
Mars probe collision
An extremely expensive probe crashed on Mars surface, causing a huge embarassment to NAS. As later discovered that was due to some mistakes in measurement units conversion. -
Columbia Shuttle Explosion
Second Space Shuttle program disaster. Columbia bruned-up on the re-entry. This lead to the program cancellation and the current dependence of the Americans on the Russian Soyuza to go to th space. -
Moon Return
NASA is planning to return to the moon in 2024, while Chine has shown interest in building a moon base. -
Objective: Mars
NASA hopes to be the first of its competitors to land on Mars surface.
Amongst these competitors, big companies can be found such as Space X and Blue Origin.
