Battle of Ulm
Napoleon won this battle (consistant of mostly skirmishes) with minimal losses and gained control of Bavaria which is part of modern day Germany. It was France against the Holy Roman Empire and it ended with the destruction of the Austrian army that was attempting to ward off the French from Bavaria. -
Battle of Trafalgar
A naval battle between British, French, and Spainish fleets (the British fought against the French and Spainish) which occured during the War of the Third Coalition that was part of the Napoleonic Wars. The British won due to their advanced navy and lost no ships during the decisive battle while the Franco-Spainish fleet lost an estimated twenty-two ships. -
Battle of Austerlitz
The Battle of Austerlitz was know as The Battle of Three Emperors and was one of the most important battles in the Napoleonic Wars. France's victory against Austria/Holy Roman Empire and Russia in this battle lead to the dissolvtion of the Holy Roman Empire and the Third Coallition; the creation of the Confederation of the Rhine, and it gave way to the Fourth Coallition War. -
Battle of Eylau
This battle occured in Eylau, East Prussia (Modern day Russia) where the Russians were battling Napoleon, and loosing quickly, the Prussian Army (angry with the French) came as reinforcments and the battle ended as a stalemate. This made the myth of Napoleon being invincible a little less believible and it gave the battered armies some shread of hope that they could beat the French. This battle is considered very mysterious due to the strength of Murat's reserved cavalry. -
Battel of Wagram
The Fith Coallition ended after the French's victory in this battle, it was a military engament between France (w/ Bavaria, Italy, & Saxony) and Austria. Napoleon had moved some of his army to fight in a smaller war so Austria used it as a chance to gain some ground back however this bloody battle that lasted for two days ended with their defeat. -
Battle of Borodino
This battle was fought in Moscow during the French Invasion of Russia and ended in victory for France. The Russian army consistantly fell back and back, furthure into Russia and while they had to sacfricfice their capital; Napoleon left Russia due to the harsh winter. Napoleon left Moscow after the Russians made it clear that they would not negotiate for peace and both sides suffered horrible casulties. -
Battle of Dresden
This was a French vicotry in Dresden, Saxony (present day Germany) which led to heavy losses in the Prussian; Russian, and Austrian armies. However, this victory made the French slightly cocky and they were stopped & cornered in the Battle of Kulm only three days later. Had the French lost and retreated; the Sixth Coalition probably wouldn't have had a chance to capture the army which would extend the war. (Even if by only a few more days) -
Battle of Leipzig
This was one of the first and biggest wins for the Coallition as after being defeated Napoleon fled to France only for France to be invaded and him to be exiled. He lost control of the territories east of the dissolved Confederation of Rhine. He lost his title as he was exiled but he returned to France later and stayed for a hundred more days. -
Battle of Waterloo
The most important vicotry for the Coallition, this battle ended Napoleon's rule and lead to his exile as not only was he defeated by the other nations but also the states that he had controlled. This battle occured in modern day Waterloo, Belgium which was originally part of the Netherlands & Great Britian. -
The Second Treaty of Paris
A treaty between France; Great Britian, Russia, Austria, Prussia, and multiple other countries (those mostly affected by the war) that ended the Napoleonic Wars. The main part of the treaty assessed the main powers while four seperate conventions were added for the smaller nations.
