From his birth, he went from an unknown military leader to leading France into more and more events and becoming more powerful day by day.

    Napoleon took control of the French army when the marchers of the National Convention tried to come after them, but he protected the people and they ran away in confusion. He was then their hero and walked through France as a proud man.

    Napoleon led an army against Austria and the Kingdom of Sardinia. He had a lot of victories and won lots of wars throughout this time period in Europe, like in Italy.

    Napoleon traveled with his followers to Egypt, but was unable to keep up with his strengths from Europe. He wanted to protect French trade and mess with British trade, but his army was defeated by the British. He was still loved by the people of France after this occurrence though.

    Napoleon signed an agreement with Pope Pius hoping that the position of the Church in France would change. Due to this, the relationship of church and state was different. This agreement gave Napoleon more power over France and gave him the support of the Church.

    Napoleon’s set of laws gave the country a set of laws and got rid of many injustices. Certain things were restricted, like freedom of speech under the code. It restricted liberty and upgraded order and authority over individual rights.

    Napoleon wanted to be Emperor of France and French voters supported him. He was crowned at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris and declared that he was more powerful and useful than the church.

    Napoleon was defeated in the Battle of Trafalgar. The British commander used his sea advantage to capture many ships and stop Napoleon from invading Britain. The war caused his ideas to be ruined and for his empire to fall.

He wanted it to make Europe more self-sustaining and to ruin Britain's economy basically. It didn’t quite destroy Britain’s trade and they were able to fight back with their stronger navy and stopped many American ships.

    Napoleon wanted to invade Russia, so him and his massive army charged into Russia and Alexander, his ally pulled back his troops because he knew they had a disadvantage with less people. The Russians made sure there was nothing for Napoleon and his army to eat and they eventually went to war.

    Napoleon began another army, but they weren’t ready to fight and were weak when weren’t supposed to be. They went into war with allied armies of Europe powers and the armies quickly brought his French army to pieces since they were so weak. This lead Napoleon to then give up his throne.

    Napoleon was exiled to Elba after his defeat in war. He was stuck there for a little and the allies thought they had won and his troubles were over, but they were not correct. He started off by escaping Elba which led to more significant occurrences later on.
  • Waterloo

    Napoleon and his army attacked the British army at a village near Waterloo. Prussian armies then joined with the British, increasing on the French and making them exhausted and defeated them shortly after. Prussians chased the army away from the field and had just created something huge in history.

    The British brought Napoleon to St. Helena, an island in the South Atlantic. He lived there for six years, and he was hardly able to stay alive. This island was what brought Napoleon to the actual end of his life.

    Napoleon possibly died of cancer, but the historians don’t know for sure. He got sick on Helena and eventually made his way to death. The significance of this was Napoleon was a huge genius in military history and he will never be forgotten of. He created many new laws, started many wars, and made the world different than it was before.
