Napoleon was born in 1769 on an Island named Corsica. He was sent to a military school at a young age which shaped his future in the government. -

The French had a target on their backs and The Directory let Napoleon guide the French. This led to the campaign in Italy. -
Campaign in Italy
The French invaded Italy and took many victories against Austria and the kingdom of Sardinia. Turning a weak army into a strong army. -
First Consul for Life
The first consul was a role given to Napoleon. The significance of him becoming the first consul was he took action. He made many changes such as a more fair tax plan, new public schools, abolished dishonest officials, Napoleonic Code, and gave the church some power back. -
Campaign in Egypt
Napoleon’s goal was to disrupt Britain’s and India’s trade. He did this by invading Egypt, and bringing home yet another victory. This made Napoleon a hero to the French. -
Concordat
The Concordat was a contract between Napoleon and the church. He reopened the Churches which made France even happier with Napoleon’s leadership. -

The French supported Napoleon's actions therefore crowning him as emperor. Napoleon now had more power of France -

The Napoleonic Code was a set of equal laws. These laws both restored slavery and took away other individual rights. -

Battle of Trafalgar was a battle with intensions to conquer Britain. They weren't able to conquer Britain because of Britain's strong navy. -

The Continental System was a blockade in attempt to wipe of trade between Britain and European nations. This failed and wasted France’s money. -

The Campaign of Russia was France invading Russia. The French didn't get too before the winter season took over. The French were weak, starving, and freezing. This made them vulnerable for attacks from the Russians, and that's actually what happened. Only 40,000 survived and 25% could keep fighting. -
Defeat at Battle of Leipzig
Many joined to attack France at their worst time. That was the Battle of Leipzig. This loss lead to Napoleon being sent off to Elba Island. -
Elba
After the Battle of Leipzig, Napoleon was sent to Elba Island. A year later Napoleon ended up escaping the island back to France. The French were pleased to see the return of Napoleon. -
Waterloo
Waterloo was a battle between European nations and Napoleon in a town named Waterloo. This was Napoleon's final loss, he was then sent far away to St. Helena after the battle. -
St. Helena
He was sent in the southern Atlantic Ocean, St. Helena. He was sent so far to guarantee he couldn’t return back to France. -
Death of Napoleon
Napoleon died in St. Helena 6 years later. He died from cancer at the young age of 52.
