    Named "the miracle of Dunkirk because a storm brought down German fighter planes giving allies chance to leave.

    360,000 allied troops were saved.
    The Germans used a strategy called Blitzkrieg to push back troops.
    Ended June 25.
    The importance is because there was the largest amount of people evacuated and saved.

    Britain's victory saved the country from a ground attack from Germany.
    The battle got it's name from a speech from Winston Churchill on June 18, 1940.
    The Battle ended Oct 31, 1940.
    The importance being that this was the first major campaign to be fought entirely by air forces.

    The importance of the siege was how Germany was able to maintain their siege with a single army.

    The soviets successfully fought off the Germans from the city of Stalingrad
    This battle marked the spot of the war where the tide was turned in thee favor of the allies
    Bloodiest battle in history, around two million civilians died.
    Many historians say it is the greatest battle of the entire war.
    The Germans were mostly defensive after war as Stalin's army grew cause of confidence
    This is important because Stalin kept away Germans from gaining territory leaving Germany with the first major loss.

    Invasion to capture Algeria and Morocco
    America and British planners argued about where the drop location was of the operation.
    It was the first invasion where the U.S. and the U.K. supplied troops.
    Invasion was very successful and helped allies supply future battles.
    Called operation Torch because of the extensive arguing of the allied planners.
    Ended November 11th.
    The importance being the location of the capture was aided by the allies of the future battles.

    156,000 American British, and Canadian Troops.
    Started 6:30 am and ended at dark.
    More than 4,000 allies lost lives.
    Battle was supposed to happen on June 5 but was cancelled because of rain.
    The Importance was how it went from Germany on the offensive side to them being pushed back.

    Objective was to split allied armies to surprise blitzkrieg.
    The battle got it's name as the German lines of troops drove in deeper to into the Adrienne it made an appearance of a bulge.
    December 16 the Germans launched deadliest battle with more than a quarter million troops. 3 armies.
    Over 100,000 casualties.
    Costliest action ever by U.S. Army.
    This battle was the last major Nazi offensive in WWII.

    Russian attack on City of Berlin.
    Over 2 million artillery shells were shot off into the city.
    Russians outnumbered German troops which helped defeat by a lot of deaths.
    When Russians were fired at for a building, they destroyed whole buildings.
    This battle ended the war.
    Ended may 2nd, 1945
    This war is important because it ended the war as the Germans surrendered.
