Arrest of Stephen F. Austin
1834 After waiting months to meet with Santa Anna SFA sends a letter to Texas telling them to start organizing a state government. Santa Anna finally meets with SFA and he agrees to some demands but not to be own state. He heads home but is arrested after his letter was intercepted. -

1835 Cos is sent to Texas with more troops. Travis is arrested for protesting this. A meeting is called to discuss war. -
Causes of the Texas Revolution
The most immediate cause of the Texas Revolution was the refusal of many Texas, both Anglo and Mexican, to accept the governmental changes mandated by "Siete Leyes" which placed almost total power in the hands of the Mexican national government and Santa Anna.
