My Personal Media Timeline

  • Radio

    Radio
On May 6, 2010, I discovered the radio. I enjoy listening to different genres of dramas. I remember when my parents and siblings weren't around, I used to play the radio. I would get scared when the sounds became "kssssshhhh" because it felt like I was in a haunted house. Later, I learned why the radio sounded like that. It was simply because the channel I selected had no signal. Radio is a way to send electromagnetic signals over long distances to deliver information from one place to another.
  • Newspaper

    Newspaper
On December 31, 2011, I saw a paper filled with words and some pictures. It looked like it was informing us about events that had happened a few days before. Later, I found out that the paper was a newspaper, a printed publication usually issued daily or weekly. It consists of folded, unstapled sheets and contains news features, articles, advertisements, and correspondence.
  • Books

    Books
In 2012, I was a kinder (kindergarten) student when I first encountered different types of books. I loved books with lessons and storybooks with different genres of stories. Since I was five years old at the time, I enjoyed looking at the pictures in storybooks more than reading books without fascinating illustrations. A book is a medium for recording information in the form of writing or images. It is composed of many pages.
  • Television

    Television
Our Sony TV holds a special place in my childhood memories. It was our source of entertainment, where we experienced a range of emotions – laughter, anger, and everything in between – through movies and films. We also used it to gather information about PAGASA (the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration).Sony is a major Japanese manufacturer of consumer electronics products, and their diverse activities have included film, music, and financial services.
  • Music

    Music
I saw a music app on my sister's phone and I was eager to listen to music. So I secretly took her phone and played a lot of music in the backyard. Music is an art form that uses sound over time to express ideas and emotions in meaningful ways through elements like rhythm, melody, harmony, and timbre.
  • Google

    Google
Google is the most helpful resource I've encountered, both then and now. It helps me with my assignments and provides common information about the artists I search. I first learned about Google in grade 4, thanks to my sister. She used it whenever she needed to find the meaning of something. Google is a popular search engine that scans the internet to find web pages relevant to the words you type into the search box.
  • Facebook

    Facebook
I discovered Facebook through my cousin, who introduced me to the platform. She created an account for me so I could log in and explore Facebook. It's a website that allows users to connect with friends, colleagues, and even people they don't know online. Users can sign up for free profiles to access the platform.
  • Tiktok

    Tiktok
I discovered TikTok in seventh grade when it became really popular, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. It's so much fun and a very popular app. I know it's a great way to connect with friends and family, and it can even help you show off your talents! TikTok is a social media platform where people create, share, and discover short videos.
  • Youtube

    Youtube
In 2020, I became addicted to YouTube, not because I wanted to watch live streams, but because at the time, I thought it was the only app for watching dramas. Now, in 2024, I've learned that there are many different apps for watching movies, K-dramas, and any film you want to see. YouTube is a free video-sharing website that makes it easy to watch online videos.
  • Web Comics

    Web Comics
In 2022, when I first saw this app in the Play Store, I became curious and clicked on it. It was a good app that featured a story. I prefer web comics to reading Wattpad because Wattpad lacks any images, while comics have them. Comics are a medium used to express ideas through images, often combined with text or other visual information.
