I first encountered a radio broadcast when I was 5 years old. Because during that time, my grandmother and her friends used to listen to their favorite songs and dramas on the radio. Television
By the year of 2013, I already know what television is. I always wake up early in the morning to watch my favorite Disney movie, Sofia the First, and other disney movies as well. Television is an electronic device that transmits moving images and sound over a distance, primarily for entertainment, information, and education purposes. -
Newspaper
My mother used to buy newspapers on the side of the street. I remember how I excitedly solved every puzzle game and read new, engaging facts. A newspaper is a form of mass communication that provides news, views, features, and other information of public interest. It also carries advertisements from different companies to endorse their brands. -
Magazine
I was in grade five when I first encountered a magazine. It's because there were people who came to our school and sold some magazines. I bought one that had a picture of my favorite Disney princess, Sofia. In the end, I felt happy because I was satisfied with the magazine I had. Magazine is a periodical publication that features articles, stories, and photographs, often covering a diverse range of topics or a specific area of interest. -
Temple Run
By the year 2015, I installed a game app which is the temple run. I was playing it as a leisure to ease my boredom. Temple Run is a popular endless runner mobile game where players control an adventurer who is running from a giant monkey and must navigate through a series of obstacles and collect coins. The game features intuitive controls, addictive gameplay, and stunning graphics, making it a global phenomenon. -
Cellphone
I first discovered a cellular phone way back in 2018. It was not so popular back then, and only a few people have it. One of those was my older sister. Out of curiosity, I asked her about it. I only learned what a cellular phone is after she told me everything about this application. A mobile phone, or cellular phone, is a wireless handheld device that allows users to make and receive calls. -
Facebook/Messenger
The COVID pandemic first occurred in the year of 2019. When I was alone, I learned what Facebook or Messenger is. I never had the chance to talk with my long-distance friends. But because of these applications, I was able to talk with them hassle-free and without risking my safety. Facebook, or Messenger, is a social media platform that allows individuals to communicate with each other easily. -
Snapchat
I installed this application to capture aesthetic and comedic pictures. When I first discovered this in 2020, I couldn't stop using it, to the point that I always filled my storage full of Snapchat pictures. It's friendly and convenient to use; that’s why I loved this app so much. Snapchat is a mobile app and service for sharing photos, videos, and messages with other people. -
BiliBili
By the year 2021, I have discovered the BiliBili app. This is where I watch my favorite Korean dramas and different movie series for free. Bilibili is a video sharing platform which, as well as the basic functions of viewing and uploading videos, allows users to post different types of live comments over the videos, creating a kind of enriched real-time chat-room layer on top of the viewing experience. -
Instagram
Alongside Facebook and Messenger, there is also Instagram. Everyone in my class has been using this application. I got curious. So, I installed it. The only difference between this to other social media platforms is that it is also favorable to celebrities. Instagram is a free online photo-sharing application and social networking platform. It allows users to edit and upload photos and short videos through a mobile app. -
TikTok
Nowadays, people all over the world are using TikTok. However, I first discovered it way back in 2022. It was actually my other friend who influenced me to install this application. She encouraged me to try it, at least. It wasn’t that bad, though. Later on, I came to love this application too. TikTok is a social media platform that allows users to create and share short-form videos. It is a massively popular app that lets users create and share videos up to 60 seconds long.
