This movie is a cross between a musical/horror/comedy. With Tim Curry being a scientist transvestite with a gloomy mansion and odd housemates, and Susan Sarandon and Berry Bostwick being a sweet unsuspecting, newly-wed couple whom get stuck in the middle of it all. It gained success as a midnight flick and is now noted the a movie with the largest cult following ever as well as the most grossing midnight flick of all. -
Hubble Space Telescope
A telescope sent into space in 1990 from Kennedy Space center in Florida, that is still used today. It was named after Edwin Hubbel an astronomer. It is the only telescope that was made specifically to be used in space by astronauts. -

A series of riots occuring in Los Angeles, California after the accuital of a policeman who was caught on tape preforming police brutality on a man named Rodney King. These were the biggest riots in the US since the 1960's. After this it brought more minority into the police force, and a reasessment of excessive force. -
Beavis and Butthead Air Date
Made by Mike Judge (King of The Hill) It was picked up by MTV and aired until November 28th 1997. Then it was picked up again in 2011 from October 27th 2011 until December 29th 2011. A show about a couple of metal-head teenagers obsessed with anything raunchy or stupidly dangerous, it captured a wide range of viewers. -
Waco Seige
Raids by the FBI and ATF at the Mount Carmel Center in Elk, Texas; right outside of Waco a compund owned by a religious group called "The Branch Davidians" who were suspected of weapons violations. An intense gun battle broke out and it resulted in the compund cathing fire and killing 76 men, women, and children -

Death of Kurt Cobain
Kurt Cobain was the lead singer of grunge band Nirvana. He was a talented lyricist whose music made an entire generation listen. Nirvana change the era of the 90's drastically involving the "grunge scene." Coabin was pronoucned dead in his Seattle home due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound from a shotgun with a suicide note nearby. -
Black Hawk Incident
This was a friendly fire action that happened in Northern Iraq while Operation Provide Comfort was going on. Two pilots of F-15s mistook US UH-60 Black Hawks for Iraqi "Hind" helicopters and destoyed both helicopters killing 26 US millitary personnel/civilians. -
Rwandan Genocide
Mass slaughter of the Tutsi in east Africa done mostly by the Hutu because of a war going on between Hutu-led governement and Rwandan Patriotic Forces (Tutsi refugees). This eliminated 70% of the Tutsi population. After Tutsi caprtued Kigali, the genocide ceased. -
Nelson Mandela
Mandela was the 1st President of South Africa. Highly involved in politics before presidency, one of his main goals was to end apartheid. He joined ANC and SACP and eventually was imprisoned for conspiracy to overthrow the state. Serving a 27 year sentence he was released in 1990. Before his death in 2013 he had recieved over 250 honours. -

Columbine H.S. Tragedy
School shooting that occured in Colorado involving two students named Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. They used mass amounts of explosives and weaponery murdering 13 people not inlcuding themselves as they comitted suicide before leaving the building and injuring 27 others. This was the first "high-profile" school shootings in US history. -
President Bush/Gore Election
Contest between Republican Bush and Democrat Al Gore for the 54th presidential election. Floridas votes caused a recount and later were givent to Bush. This was US history's 4th election where the eventual winner failed to win the popular vote. -
9/11 Attacks
Sets of terrorist attacks that occured in New York City when American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175 crashed into the World Trade Center. The event heavily lowered american morale and put the NSA on high-alert; drastically changing security levels nationwide. -

OJ Simpson Trial
Refered to as the "trial of the century". Ex football player and actor Orenthal James Simpson was prosecuted for the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her waiter friend Ronald Goldman. It was highly covered by media for nearly the entire spance of the trial causing people all over the US to tune in. Charges were dropped due to problems with evidence.
