Gas Prices are so low!
On January 1st 1998 gas prices were $1.39 per gallon. By the year 2000 gas was $1.54 a gallon. Every year gas goes up 25-50%. By 2009 gas was $2.39. -
The Human Genome Project
The Human Genome Project first stage was completed and as more diseases and illnesses are mapped to specific genes great strides will be achieved in the health profession. -
9/11 terrorist attack
On September 11th 2001 terrorists hijacked four passenger planes. Two went into the twin towers in NYC, another went into the Pentagon, the fourth flew itself into the ground near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. -
Snow storm!
The snow here in Oswego that began falling at regular intervals since Febuary 3rd along Lake Ontario piled up a reported 136 inches. -
International Year of Fresh Water
The international year of fresh water took place all through the year of 2003. This was when groups and organizations all over the world came together to help deliver and make sure everyone had fresh water. -
An Egyptian airline crisis
Flight 604, a boeing 737 owned by flash airlines, an egytian airliner, plunges into the Red Sea, killing all 148 aboard. -
The Red Lake Massacre
In Red Lake, Minnesota, ten are killed in a school shooting. The worst since the Columbine High School Massacre. It started when 16-year old Jeffrey Weise killed his grandfather and his girlfriend. Later that day he drove his grandfathers police vehicle to Red Lake Senior High School and killed seven more people on campus, comprising five other students, one teacher, and one unarmed security gaurd, and wounded five others. The shooting finally ended when Weise comitted suiside. -
The 2006 Olympics
Lithuanian ice dancers Margarita Drobiazko and Provilas Vanagas (who were married in 2000) became the first figure skaters to compete at five olympics. The games featured 84 metal events over 15 sports. The events included alpine skiing, batholon, bobsleigh, cross country skiing, curling, figure skating, free style skiing, ice hockey, luge, Nordic combined, short track speed skating, skeleton, ski jump, snowboarding, and speed skating. -
Cruise Time!
On March 7th 2007 me and my family went on a week long Disney Cruise. We were lucky because my grandfather was able to pay for all of us and there were 11 of us. We did so much in the week it is hard to write it all down. The first day was amazing first there was a HUGE setting sail party on the deck. After that party we went back to our cabin to get some sleep because we knew we would be up a lot the next couple of days. We stopped at Grand Caymon, Cozumel, Key West, and Disney's Castaway Cay. -
Not a very good day.
Today Barack Obama was elected President of the United states. Truthfully i wanted John Mccain to win the most votes but obviously that didnt happen. I think Johm has more experience in the states. An interesting fact that most people probablly dont know about John Mccain is that he was a prisoner of war in the Vietnam War. In October 1967 John was on a bombing mission over in Hanoi, he was shot down and seriously injured, then captured by the North Vietnamese. He was a prisoner untill 1973. -
Is there a possibility there is life on the moon?
Today Nasa found water on the moon. Nasa bombed the moon on friday October 9th 2009 and to their suprise they found water, water that was buried under the hard, packed soil for who knows how long. Where do you think this will take us? Does this open another door to another whole life cycle? -

Price of gas in 2011 from 1999
Gas has gone up a lot since 1999 you look back to the part of the timeline that says 1999n you can see that it says gas was $1.39 per gallon now it is $4.97 and up.
