Mother Teresa was first recognized by the Indian government in 1962 and was awarded the Bharat Ratna 18 years later, a very prestige civilian award. Not all Indians favored her though. Part of the Indian political world didn not like her because she often opposed the Hindu rights. -

India - Assassination of Rajiv Gandhi
Jajiv Gandhi was the ex-Prime Minister of India and was assassinated while campaigning for the upcoming elections. The assassination was a suicide bombing in Sriperumbudur blamed on the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam and took the lives of 14 other people. -
India - Hindu extremists demolish mosque in Ayodhya
68 Hindu extremists who were leaders from BJP and a few were bureaucrats were blamed for the demolition of the Babri Mosque. This event triggered widespread Hindu-Muslim violence and communal riots resulting in around 2,000 deaths. -
My life - Parent's marriage
My parents James and Dolly Rousseau got married at St. Ephraim's church in Central Falls and then had their reception at the Officer's Club in Newport, RI. THye have been married for 16 years now and have had two children, my brother and I. -

These nuclear tests were tested under Operation Shakti by Atomic Energy Commission of India and the Defence Research and Developement Organization. The operations carried out were known as Pokhran-11 and was declared moraturium. -

At Woonsocket Hospital on this day at 12:37 p.m. the first child of my parents (I) was born. I weighed 7 pounds and 7 ounces and lived the rest of my life in Cumberland, RI. -
My life - Baptism
When I was one year old I was baptized at St. Ephraim's church in Central Falls. Since I belong to an orthodox church I was baptized, confirmed, and made my frist communion all at once. My god mother became Aunt Christine Corriveau and my god father became my uncle James Mardenli. -

This cyclone, also known as Cyclone 05B and Paradip cyclone, was the strongest tropical cyclone ever in the North Indian Ocean. The devastation was immense, taking the lives of 10,000 people and affecting 84 villages. -
India - 1 Billion citizens
As India reached one billion citizens they will begin to see several problems begginning to occur. The increased population will result in a hurt economy and possibly resorting to population control in the future. Although the very large number of citizens may seem to be the cause of all of the poverty, the country needs to keep in mind that the majority of it is due to the civil sevices and other institutions. -
My life - Intussuception
When I was about three years old I spent 2-3 days at Hasbro's Children Hospital because I had Intussuception. This is a blockage of the intestines because of a pollup which decreases the blood flow. If it was not immediately treated it could have resulted in tissue damage or even death. -
My life - 1st dance recital
When I was three years old I danced at Krylo's for a year which was once a dance studio in Woonsocket, RI. I took tap and jazz with my cousin Bianca who was 5 at the time. This was my first dance recital and I performed a tap bumble bee dance and a USA themed jazz dance. After that I switched studios to the Jasper School of Dance which is where I am still currently dancing at right now, -
My Life - Domenic's birth
On August 2nd, 2002, at Woonsocket Hospital my younger brother Domenic was born. Unfortunately I was not present at the time because I was on a short vacation in Lake George, New York with my mother's side of the family. -
My life - 1st Communion
The mass for my first communion was held at my church St. Ephraim's in Central Falls, RI. Afterwards they held a reception for the children making their first communion at 12 Acres where there was a huge celebration. -

From the year of 2007 up until 2012, Pratibha Patil served as the first women president of India. She began the elections running as a United Progressive Alliance Candidate and then a compromise candidate and won two-thirds of the votes. While president she saw many controversies in India and took many foreign trips. -
India - Homosexual intercourse between consenting adults is not criminal
Overturned a 148-year-old colonial law and now decriminalized homosexual intercourse between consenting adults. After a 7-year legal fight, the non-profit Naz Foundation won a verdict from New Delhi's high court. -
My life - Junior 1 team placed 5th in the nation
Sometime near the end of spring of 2010 my cheerleading team placed 5th out of the entire nation at the US Finals competition. I cheered for Rhode Island Elite Alstars which is a competitive cheer gym, not a highschool team. -
My Life - Quebec trip
In eighth grade a large group of kids from North and South Cumberland middle schools went on a four-day trip to old Quebec City in Canada. During our visit we went dog sledding, on a boat ride through the ice, went to a snowpark, an ice hoteal, and visited historical cites. -
India - Reverse decriminalizing homosexual acts
The supreme court of India reverses a 2009 Dehli high court order to decriminalize homosexual intercourse. Claims that parliament should resolve the issue and not the courts. -
Prediction: My life - Graduation
In the year 2016 I plan on graduating from Cumberland High School with all of my friends. By then I hope that the graduation ceremony is moved back to Tucker Field but because of the recent changes it may take place at PPAC. after graduation I plan on attending a college in New England for forensics. -
Prediction: India - Repealing the law on homosexual intercourse
With all of the movements already put into place in the past 3 months and the groups fighting for homosexuality, goverment and court officials will begin to question their decision. Also the violent protests and criminal acts against homosexuals will pose as a "wake up call" to repeal the law banning same sex intercourse.
