My Birth
I was born on February 21st, in Toronto, and was then diagnosed with V.S.D and left pulmonary artery stenosis. I was a very happy baby, and liked to play. I was born in Mount Sinai Hospital. -
My Heart Surgery
My heart surgery took place, and was left with a scar. They repaired the hole, and fixed my artery. I was healthy, and good as new. The surgery had been conducted at Sick Kids Hospital. -
My First Word
I learnt my first word. It was a Serbian word. The word was “baba”. That means grandmother, or an old women. My first language was Serbian. -
I Became Bilingual
I was able to speak english pretty well when I was a bit over two years. This was when I officially became bilingual. I then started going to daycare, where my english started to advance. -
The Start of Swimming
I started swimming competitively, in a small team, called Jimmie Simpson Dolfins. I became very successful, and loved swimming more than anything. I made great friends, and had an amazing time. I won many awards, and started advancing quickly. -
Joining T.S.C
After my success, I joined a bigger, and more oficial club for swimming. My dreams began to soar, along with skill. I made great memories, and amazing friends. This was the start of a potential career. -
My Appendix Removal
I was rushed to the hospital in immense pain, and was told I had to get a surgery to remove my appendix. I had appendicitis. They had to transport me from the hospital in an ambulance. It was intense. I wasn’t allowed to swim for a whole month. -
Short Course Central Regionals
This was the first time I made it to Central Regionals. I made it for two events in swimming. They were 50 metres and 100 metres of breaststroke. -
I Got My First Pet
I bought my first pet, a cockatiel lutino on this memorable day. He is so adorable and playful. He learnt how to sing songs. He is always outside, spreading joy. -
The Writing Contest
I entered a writing contest, in which you write about someone who impacted Canada positively or negatively. I wrote my essay on Michael Zehaf-Bibeau. I wrote about how he created a very negative impact on our country. -
Summer Olympics in Tokyo
This is when I made into the summer olympics. I traveled to Tokyo, and had the time of my life. I swam 100 and 200 metre breaststroke, and participated in the 400 metre IM relay. -
Graduation
I graduated from med school, with a degree. I became a qualified children’s cardiologist. I was over joyed. I finished school in The University of Toronto. -
Job Offer
I was offered a job at Sick Kids Hospital. I gladly took the job opportunity. Now my life was fulfilled. I loved my job so much. I loved helping children. I can look back to my childhood and remember myself walking into the same office for a cardiac checkup.
