Kelsey and her mom went down to sign her up for softball that season at Parks and Rec. but they missed the deadline and couldn't sign up. Later that night, while going through her Thursday Folder, Kelsey's mom saw a paper for YMCA volleyball, not wanting Kelsey to sit around and not do anything for a few months, asked her if she wanted to try it, just for fun. Kelsey didn't have any objections so they signed up and she played her first season of volleyball at the YMCA.

    Starting Real Volleyball
During Kelsey's previous season of YMCA volleyball, Kelsey was playing and a man named Ryan Webber was at the game, and approached her parents after the game. He told them about club volleyball, which went to tournaments down in the City and Tulsa, and would be a huge leap in the intensity of play. He told them he thought Kelsey could handle it with ease and that she would really enjoy it. They checked with Kelsey and then signed her up with SVC (Stillwater Volleyball Club).

Kelsey's freshmen year she knew exactly what she wanted to do, which was volleyball. She wanted to go to bigger tournaments, play against better teams and overall, up her level of play. Her parents supported her and let her try out for a couple of teams. One of the teams Kelsey tried out for a club was called Peak Performance, which was undoubtably the highest intensity club in the state. She ended up making the 15-1's team at Peak.
