My grandmother, Antonia (for me, Antonyita), was born the 1st of September 1943, in Vilassar de Dalt. -
My grandmother went to school
My granny started school in 1948. -
My grandmother read in public in her village
Antonyita liked to learn, she was a good student. On the occasion of the visit to the village by some authority in that time, she was chosen to read in public. -
My grandmother couldn't go to highschool
My grandmother's teacher appreciated her a lot, she tried to convince her parents to let her continue her studies at the end of primary school, but her parents were very poor and could pay for it. She will always remember that. -
My grandmother started working
When she was fourteen my grandmother had to leave school and go to work in the textile factory. -
My grandmother met my grandfather
When she was about 19 to 20 years old, my grandmother met my grandfather, whose name was Esteve and who was from Vilassar de Mar but their parents were Aragonese. -
My grandmother stopped working
Antonyita stopped working in the factory at the age of 21, shortly before she got married. She worked there for 7 years but did not like it at all. My grandfather was a very good mechanic and this made it possible for my granny to stop working in the factory. -
My grandmother got married
In 1965 she got married to Esteve, my grandfather. -
My grandmother had her first daughter
The 3rd of March, 1966, Antonyita had her first child, my aunt Mercè. -
My grandmother gave birth to triplets
The 3rd of March in 1970, my grandmother had triplets, my mother Marta and my two aunts Roser and Àurea. -
My grandmother gave birth to her last sun
The 27th of March in 1975, Antonyita had my ouncle, named Esteve, like his father. -
My grandmother lost his husband
My grandfather Esteve died in 2006. Since then, my grandmother has lived alone in her house, in Vilassar de Dalt, she was very sad when it happend. -
My grandmother got a cat
In August of 2019, Antonyita found a baby cat who had been abandoned and she took him and kept him at her home, she named him Gat.
