I am released from Early Access
Woo yeah! -
Halo Combat Evolved
First game I ever played! I was barely able to read at the time, let alone comprehend what was going on. As far as I can remember, I spent most of the time staring at Master Chief's boots, slowly spinning because I hadn't mastered joysticks yet. Halo: Combat Evolved (Bungie 2001)
DF Retro: Halo - The console shooter that changed everything (Eurogamer 2017) -
Mario Kart Wii
Played the hell out of this with my Sister, along with Wii Sports and the first Mario Galaxy. It was the first game I was arguably good at, I could semi-reliably beat my sister and dad at the game, but looking back I think they might have just been giving me a free win. Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo 2008)
'Mario Kart Wii' lives up to the hype, and then some (CNET 2008) -
Bomberman LIVE
I swear up and down that I played bomberman on the original Xbox, but apparently it was never released there. I recall playing this one as well, I used the astronaut costume exclusively, I thought the weird reflection was somewhat haunting and lonely. Bomberman Live (Hudson soft 2007)
Bomberman Live Review (IGN 2007) -
Halo 4
My first ever multiplayer experience, I'd be on the Xbox as soon as I got home and would be playing until my parents were yelling at me.
Good times. Halo 4 (343 Industries 2012)
Master Chief and Cortana (USAToday 2012) -
Team Fortress 2
First thing I played on my steam account, Dad sat me down one day and downloaded steam, and TF2 on the family computer and told me to play it and stop asking him to let me play Fallout 3 on the box. Team Fortress 2 (Valve Corporation 2007) -
War Thunder
My most played game by ~900 hours, I regret it entirely. At least I wasn't getting into fights in alleys? War Thunder (Gaijin Entertainment 2012) -
Just Cause 3
First game I ever got 100% achievements in, wingsuiting around was a very Zen experience, so was just walking through the snow picking up collectables. Just Cause 3 (Avalanche Studios, Fatalist Entertainment 2015)
Just Cause 3 Review (GameSpot 2015) -
Rimworld
Dwarf Fortress in space, and dumbed down for sane people.
I spent almost the entirety of Year 12 playing this instead of doing my research project, clutched it up in the last two weeks, got myself a B+. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Rimworld (Ludeon Studios 2013) -
Warframe
First account was made in ~2015, but didn't really get into it until late 2019, started playing it again a few months back. If you're ever looking for the worst new player onboarding process, be sure to check this game out, its genuinely impressive how bad it is. Warframe (Digital Extremes 2013)
