My Exposure to Media Timeline

  • Television

    Television
Television was the first medium I was exposed to. I remember waking up so early just to watch in 'Myx' ( a channel where music videos were air). during the weekdays, and cartoons and anime series during the weekends with my siblings. It was nostalgic, especially now that we are all busy with our own things.

  • Portable DVD Player

    Portable DVD Player
As a kid, I loved indulging myself with cartoons and games; thus, having a portable DVD player was a good experience for me. Me and my best friend spent most of the day watching cartoon movies and playing games. Maybe my early exposure to this was also the reason why I didn't interact that much with others up until now. I'm not complaining, though; I prefer solitude anyway.
  • Books

    Books
During my kindergarten year, I didn't know how to read yet, so after we graduated, my teacher gave me a book in order for me to learn. As the vacation came, I spent most of my time trying to read it all by myself. And the memory of my reaction after reading my first word is still vividly embedded in my mind. And so I started reading books and got addicted to it. I was even rummaging through my older siblings' things just to read their school books.
  • Newspaper

    Newspaper
Due to the advent of technology, newspapers are not that prolific anymore; news can already be seen in different media, such as television and cellphones. Back then, I used to read newspapers, more specifically the articles and entertainment part of them. I also used to play the crossword puzzle part of it with my siblings. It was nostalgic.
  • KEYPAD PHONE

    KEYPAD PHONE
I didn't experience having my own keypad phone, but I remember myself wishing for one when I was a kid. Honestly, this type of phone is kind of boring but beneficial enough for its functions. The sole reason why I wanted to have this was because of the games, especially the 'snake' one; me and my friends were even alternating and waiting for each other's turn while comparing our scores. Well, that memory was gratifying... and cute.
  • Radio

    Radio
I remember listening to different radio channels and stations with my grandparents back then. We used to play board games while listening to our favourite radio station, 'MOR 101.9', where the topic was often about love. Unfortunately, that station had already closed, as had the other channels, so we stopped listening to the radio too. I often miss listening to the radio, but what is more important is that we still bond together, even in other ways.
  • CELLPHONE

    CELLPHONE
When I was in elementary school, having my own cellphone was one of my dreams. But, unlike other kids, the reason I wanted to have one was entirely different. Because I was so invested in gaining knowledge every day, I reached the point where I was imagining myself searching for every unfamiliar word I heard and putting it in my own private dictionary right away. That didn't happen, though. But now that I already have my own cellphone, I am utilising it just like I imagined.
