My Exposure to Media

  • Typewriter

    Typewriter
I still remember seeing our typewriter and asking my auntie to teach me how to use it. I was amazed when she inserted the paper and started typing, seeing the letters stamped on the paper. When I heard the dinging sound, it meant she had reached the end of the line she was writing on. This shows me that when we preserve old things, we keep a piece of the past alive, reminding us of how things used to be.
  • DVD

    DVD
I remember how my mother would buy all the Hello Kitty CDs so I could watch them on DVD. She always made sure I had the latest episodes, and we would have little movie nights where we’d watch them together. Those times were special because they were about more than just the device; they were about the joy and bonding we shared over it.
  • Digital Camera

    Digital Camera
When I was younger, my mother and father had a digital camera. The camera is full of memories from their days as boyfriend and girlfriend, through their marriage, and when they had children. Sadly, my father died early. Fifteen years have passed, but the pictures remain vivid reminders of our past. This camera, and the memories it holds, show how technology can keep precious moments alive, helping us remember and cherish the times we've had, even after loved ones are gone.
  • Television

    Television
As a kid, my daily routine was watching TV and playing with our Jollibee toys. Every morning, my sister and I would go straight to the living room to watch our favorite cartoon, "Jollitown." I remember sometimes we’d argue over the TV because she wanted to change the channel and I didn’t. Those are the kinds of memories I want to keep with me as I get older. This shows how TV was a big part of our childhood, shaping our daily lives and giving us special moments with our loved ones.
  • Tablet

    Tablet
When I was in the 2nd grade, my mother bought me a tablet so I could contact her when she was away for work. This showed me how media can help us stay connected, even when not together.
  • Cellphone

    Cellphone
I still remember when I got my first phone in 5th grade. I brought it to school and it got confiscated because I was showing it off to my classmates. It was also the first time I had a Facebook account; my mom set it up so I could contact her and our other family members.
  • Laptop

    Laptop
When I graduated from elementary school, my mother bought us a laptop to use when we started high school. It was a big help, especially with studying. If I didn’t understand something, I could easily search for it or watch a YouTube video about it.This shows me how technology can really support learning and make it easier to access information.
  • Computer

    Computer
When the pandemic hit and we had to shift to online classes, my mother decided to buy a computer. The computer made it easier for me to attend virtual classes, complete assignments, and join online discussions. It showed me how important having the right technology is for handling new situations and keeping up with school, even during tough times.
  • Printer

    Printer
This made my life easier. I didn't have to go find a computer shop to print the things I needed. I could print everything at home. It saved me time and effort. Now, I can get things done faster and with less stress. It shows how technology can make daily tasks simpler and better.
