Going to middle school
After going to a traditional elementary school for all my life, going to an all girls school was a big change for me. Not only was it all girls, but we had to wear a uniform and the grading system was very unique. TYWLS was different, but I wanted that kind of change. This was also when I first started walking to school by myself and doing more things on my own, I enjoyed the freedom. -
TED Talk
In 9th grade ELA we were assigned a project to create a TED Talk on any topic of our choice. When given this project I immediately had many ideas, but ended up choosing dreams. Through researching dreams I was able to find an interest of mine; psychology. While researching I found myself watching many psychology videos and researching things other than dreams within the topic.Getting to know more about what psychology was impacted my decision for AP classes for the upcoming school year as well. -
Going to high school
Although this wasn't much of a transition because I remained in the same school, to me it didn't feel that way. And even though I walked the same distance to school was with the same people for the most part, and wore the same uniform, I felt a greater sense of independence and responsibility. I felt like I needed to rely on myself more to do things and I started to do that. Going to high school at the time felt like a much bigger step towards adulthood, and im happy I got to do that here. -

Taking a college algebra and trigonometry
Taking a college now course was a great experience. I was able to challenge myself by taking a higher level math course and trying new things. What I mostly appreciate about it is the taste of the college life it gave me, I was able to experience a co-ed classroom setting, travelling to the campus, being responsible for a whole course worth of work and taking midterms and finals. Im happy I got the chance to try these things out before college officially started.
