the 30s were characterised by the swing era, which featured catchy brass riffs in many popular dance songs. like the 1910s, this era was prominently intwined with dance and broadway culture, with many of the decades hits belonging to musical performances from both Hollywood and the theatre. -
1940s
the 40s feature the return of jazz as well as an increase of popularity in big band, latin and country music. some aspects of crooner music were featured in this decade, with most songs carrying an optimistic tone to coincide with the end of the 2nd world war. -

emergence of rock n' roll, as well as the development and flourishing of pre-established genres such as jazz, country and blues. creation of the Fender Stratocaster
