Proclamation Of 1763
The proclamation forbade colonists from settling past a certin boundary line. -
Sugar Act
An act passed to try and generate some sort of revenue to help pay for the war by making money off of a tea-tax -
Stamp Act
The stamp at was yet another attempt to help compensate for the cost of war, mainly garisoning troops, this act required a stamp on all legal documents. -
The Quartering Act
The Quartering act forced colonists to house soldiers to eliminate the cost of garisoning them for the british. -
Townshend Acts
An indirect tax was placed on necessary supplies for the colonists, but they quickly caught on and petitioned for this to be repealed. -
Boston Massacre
5 colonists were killed after a scuffle turned lethal between a rowdy crowd and a group of british soldiers. -
Tea Act
An act permitting East India company to sell directly to the colonies, the colonists saw this as an indirect tax and started resenting it. -
Boston Tea Party
Colonial patriots dressed as Indians and threw thousands of dollars worth of tea into the harbor. -
Intolerable acts
A series of acts that basically forced th colonists to follow the previous acts put into place. The colonists boycotted because of this. -
Continental Congress
Colonial representatives meet to oppose the intolerable acts. -
Battles of Lexington and Concord.
British troops were trying to sieze gunpowder/weapons from the colonists, paul revere had warned about their arrival.
