    Battle of Panipat

    This event marks the beginning of the Mughal Empire. In this battle the Lodi forces of India are defeated and is one of the earliest battles to involve more sophisticated weapons such as guns etc.

    The death of Babur brings great difficulties to the Empire because the people are not happy with Hamayun being the successor.

    Hamayun vs the Nobles

    The Nobles try to prevent Hamayun from becoming the emperor, but they are unsuccessful and Hamayun becomes emperor in 1531.
  • Jan 26, 1540

    Hamayun is Defeated

    After revealing his weakness Hamayun is defeated by the Sur Dynasty in 1540 and is forced to take refuge in the Persian Empire.
  • Jan 26, 1555

    Hamayun befriends Persia

    Hamayun is forced to take refuge in Persia and becomes good friends with the Persians, and in July 23 1555 he attempts to take back the Empire fete the death of Sher Shah and his son and is successful.

    Hamayun retakes the Empire

    Hamayun sends an army under Bairam Khan and takes back Delhi and the Mughals are once again rulers.
  • Jan 27, 1556

    Hamayun's Death

    In 1556 Hamayun in fatally injured and dies when he is walking down a flight of stair and stops for midday prayer.
