The Main Problem
Narrator is one of the last survivors of a severe storm happening around the large cruise ship that is bound to sink at any moment. -
Rising Action #1
Narrator sees a strange cloud, the red moon, and notices that the ocean is so abnormally clear that he can see the bottom. -
Rising Action #2
The Narrator goes to the Captain and explains that he believes that something bad is going to happen to the ship. The Captain doesn't listen to the narrator and walks away without replying. -
Rising Action #3
The Narrator couldn't sleep, so at midnight he went onto the deck. -
Rising Action #4
The Narrator is startled by a large blast of water that dramatically shakes the ship, and covers it with water. -
Rising Action #5
All of the people onboard of the cruise ship had been swept overboard, and the Captain and his crew died because their cabins were filled with water. The only survivors were the Narrator and an old Swede. -
Rising Action #6
On the sixth day, it was extremely dark and both of the men couldn't see anything. The two survivors also tied themselves to the mast so they wouldn't be swept overboard. -
Climax
Later on the sixth day, the old Swede points out a glare of red light while their ship is being sucked into a whirlpool. Then, the narrarator notices a ship coming towards them on the summit of a huge wave. The wave and the ghost ship on top of it crash into the cruise ship that the two men are on, and they fall onto the ghost ship. -
Falling Action #1
The narrarator runs into the hold and makes a place for him to hide from the men on the ghost ship because he doesn't trust the foreign crewmen. -
Falling Action #2
The narrarator realizes that the ship may sink at any second, so he plans to continue writing about what is happening and at his last moment put it into a bottle and throw it out into the ocean. -
Falling Action #3
The narrarator realizes that the ship and all in it are have the spirit of the Eld. -
Resolution
The ghost ship begins to plunge into a whirlpool and the narrarator throws the bottle out into the ocean before their descent.
