Nazix take the Sudetenland
The Sudetenland crisis happened because Germans wanted Czechoslovakia to be under the control of Germany. The German and Czech governments did not agree and tension grew. Eventually they agreed to make Sudetenland part of Germany. I chose this picture because it was like the German and Czech government arguing. -
Ribbentrop/Molotov Pact
An agreement signed between Germany and the Soviet Union that allowed the Soviet Union to trade with Germany. It also divided Poland between Germany and Soviet Union. The agreement stated that the two countries would remain neutral in war with other states and not show aggression toward each other. This allowed Hitler to go ahead with an attack on Poland and not have to worry about the Soviets. Union attacking Germany from the other direction. This lead to the start of World War II. -

It started because Germans invaded Poland. After heavy shelling and bombing, Poland surrendered to Germany. Britain and France declared war on Germany to help Poland. I chose this picture because the Germans heavily bombed Poland. -
German Blitzkrieg
The Blitzkrieg was a tactic that was based on speed and surprise. Created by Germans to make wars shorter. It was effective in pushing the French and British armies back. It took place in Holland and Belgium. I chose this picture because the Blitzkrieg was based on speed and cheetahs are really fast. -

I chose this picture because Great Britain was the last threat. Germany was the small kid in the blue and Great Britain is the big man in the green. -

Germany invaded the USSR by surprise. The Soviet Union asked the British for help. Britain and the United States assisted the USSR against Germany. The USSR held off Germany to keep Moscow. I chose this picture because Germany invaded the USSR by surprise and this face is a surprised face. -
Pearl Harbor
Japanese began a day-long attack on Americans in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. They wanted to destroy all of American ships. Fortunately, the Americans had some ships out so Japan didn’t destroy all of their ships. It caused many deaths and destroyed most of the American planes and battle ships. I chose this picture because this could be a boat that was out on the sea that didn’t get hit by a bomb and explode. -
Wannsee Conference
This event happened so the Nazis could figure out what to do about the large number of people in Germany’s concentration camps. Eventually they decided on moving the Jews out of Germany into restricted areas to be eliminated. I chose this picture because this is what most of the people in the concentration camps looked like. -

I chose this picture because Stalingrad was Russias communication center and these two figures are communicating. -

Stalingrad was the center of communication in the south. Also a manufacturing center for Russia. The Germans wanted to destroy that area to cut off their communication. Russia ended up winning and the German army retreated. Germany suffered major losses to their military. -
Allied invasion of Africa
The Allies attacked Northern Africa region because they wanted to get behind the Germans and move up. They wanted control of French Morocco and Algeria. Capturing this area gave the Allies an opportunity to learn how to fight in the same environment as Germany. The operations code name was torch. I chose this picture because this was the Allies strategy to defeat Germany. -
Operation Gomorrah
British and Americans bombed Hamburg, Germany. They bombed them because they thought that an attack on a symbolic target would make the Nazis agree to a peace deal and end the war. It was devastating to the Germans because it was the first time they thought they would be defeated. I chose this picture because it shows where Hamburg is in Germany. -

It was an attempt of the Allies to push the front line from northern France to northwestern Belgium. They wanted to go that way to get to Germany. It was Hitler’s last attempt to split the Allies in two. Hitler was winning at first but the Allies came back and won. -
Liberation of concentration camps
As the Allies moved across Europe, they were finding the German concentration camps. They ended up telling the world that the Germans were killing Jews at these horrible concentration camps. The Allies told the world because people should not be treated like that just because of their beliefs. I chose this picture because this map shows where the Germans made the concentration camps at in Europe. -
VE Day
This was the day World War II officially ended. The war ended because the Germans surrendered. The Allies celebrated the win of this long war. I chose this picture because it was an article in a newspaper about the war being over and a picture of the Allies celebrating.
