Why did this even take place? Leaders of Germany, Great Britain, France, and Italy signed an agreement that allowed the Nazis to take annex the Sudentenland. What Happened? Hitler threatened to take the Sudentenland by force. The Czechoslovakian governement resisted but allies France and Britain determined to avoid war, were willing to negotiate with Hitler. What was the outcome? Nazis seized the rest of Czechoslovakia in the spring '39 and in September invaded Poland, starting World War II. -

Why did this event take place? The German-Soviet Nonaggression Pact signed by the foreign ministers. What happened? The pact was signed right after the agreement of 19 August, which granted the USSR 180 million marks for the purchase of German goods. What was the outcome? Lead to World War II. It was after months of unsuccessful negotiations between the USSR on the one side and France and Great Britain on the other, and Soviet failure to organize an anti-Nazi diplomatic coalition. -

Which wasn’t popular with most Germans. What happened?Germany invaded Poland. In October 1939, Germany directly annexed those former Polish territories.
What was the outcome? Nazi Germany occupied the remainder of Poland when it invaded the Soviet Union in June 1941. Poland remained under German occupation. -
