July 17th 1945-August 2nd was the last allied conference of world war II which was held in berlin.They met to discuss peace settlements and the determination of reparations.On july 26th 1945 an ultimatum was issued from the conference demanding japan's surrender since japan attacked a u.s base.This lead to the u.s bombing hiroshima. -

June 25th 1950, The north koreans supported by the soviets attacked southward across the 38th parallel. Because north korea want to spread their communist ideals and the u.s and the south korea wanted to prevent the spread of communism. 1,300,000 south koreans died. 1,000,000 chinese died 800,000 north koreans and 37,000 americans.it ended in july of 1953. -

1954-1975 a civil war broke out between north and south vietnam. And the u.s joined to help the south. South vietnam did not like the idea of communism and the north did. 1.3 million vietnamese soldiers died and 58,00 u.s troops killed and 2 million civilian lives. -

May 14th,1955 the treaty of friendship,cooperation,and ,mutual assistance was signed by the soviets,albania,bulgaria,czechoslovakia,East germany,hungary,poland and romania.the countries wanted a strong defense against any threats from the west and to prevent people from establishing ties with the west.But the forces presence brought on hostility. On july first the treat was dissolved. In march the military structure also disbanded which also disbanded the political arm. -

July 26th 1956, the Egyptian president Gamal Adel nationalized the Suez canal. It was provoked by America and the British decision not to finance Egypt's construction on the aswan high dam. Cuban missile crisis
In October 22nd 1962, president notified the Americans of the presence of missiles, and explained his decision to enact a naval blockade around Cuba. He made it clear that the u.s was prepared to use military force if necessary to neutralize the threat. This all occurred because of the missiles being installed so close to u.s mainland. They were capable of reaching targets in the u.s if allowed to be operational. This event caused an ongoing tension between the u.s and Cuba. -
