Motor Controls Timeline

  • Day 1 - Devin

    When - 12/3/2024
How - I wired a low voltage light to a transformer and a push button
  • Day 2 - Production

What - Went as a shop to look at production jobs
Why - To hopefully go back and get work done on them
  • Day 3 - Relay light projects

What - I wired 4 projects using relays and low voltage lights
Why - To hopefully better my understanding on relays and motor controls
  • Day 4 - Relay light projects (Start and Stop buttons)

    Who - Me
Why - To get familiar with more concepts in relays and motor controls
  • Day 5 - Maintaining Contact

    Who devin
what Did a project with a maintaining contact
  • Day 6 - Motor starters

What - I wired a motor starter to a start and stop button. How - The start button was wired to a momentary contact at first and then I wired it to a holding contact where I needed to stop it with the stop button.
  • Day 7 - Emergency Stop

What - We wired an emergency stop button and two push buttons to light up 2 lights
    Who - Devin and Josh
  • Day 8 - Emergency Stop with holding contacts

    Who - Devin and Josh
What - We wired two push buttons and an emergency stop button to two lights.
  • Day 9

    What - Motor control practice
    Who - Me and Josh
  • Day 10

What - Unit 89 in Mike Holt, and timer shop projects
    Who - Me and Josh
  • Day 11

    Where - Shop/theory area
What - Sequence of operations and some more advanced motor control projects
  • Day 12

What - Learned about conveyors and limit switches
Where - In the shop area
  • Day 13

    Who - Me and Josh
What - Worked with limit switches on motor control circuits
  • Day 14

What - Limit switches and how to reverse a single phase motor
    Where - theory area
