WW2 started around the same time that the Great Depression was ending. The many men that were out of jobs now had one by going to war and the women got to take over the mens factory jobs while they were away. This war actually was beneficial to our economy. -

William Levitt built a suburan area of homes. They sold like crazy and were cheap. -
The Civil Rights Act
This act made it illegal to discriminate against race and gender biased employment. It also made it possible for all genders to have equal opportuinites with jobs. -
Federal Express Begins
Fedex and many other over-night delivery services revolutionize business in the US. -
Reagan is Elected
Under Reagan, Congress made the tax codes simpler and less progressive, and also cut domestic spending. He put more money towards the economy. -
9/11
The 9/11 attacks had long term and short term attacks on the economy. It caused the 2001 recession to get worse and also caused the War on Terror, one of the biggest government spending prgrams ever. -
The Great Recession
This was the worst recession since WW2. There was an $8 trillion bubble that bursted causing the loss of over 8 million jobs.
