Economic Stimulus Act of 2008 (budget)
early February the Democratic Congress passed and President Bush signed the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008. This Act provided tax rebates of $300 - $1200 for low-income and middle-income families. This led to a $500 billion budget deficit.

Obama Administration (savings)
The obama administration proposes a plan in regards to retirement funds once they exceed a certain threshold. The limit would be based on the amount needed to finance an annuity (a fixed sum of money paid to someone each year) of $205,000 in retirement.

Obamacare (leadership)
Also known as the Affordable Care Act, was passed by Obama in March of 2010. This act was made for the purpose of giving more Americans access to quality, affordable health insurance and to reduce the US health care spending. Cost of ObamaCare is $1,839 offset by $456 billion in revenue for 2015–2024, for an estimated net cost of 1.36 Trillion

Trade
America is a net exporter of services. One year it exported $716 billion in services and only imported $489 billion. It created a surplus which helped to offset the deficit in goods.

Budget
Reducing all types of budget would help the national debt a lot. Even reducing it the smallest amount could have a large effect. On March 1, 2013, the government wanted to undo sequestration, which is a 2.5% reduction of projected spending over 10 years.

Trade
The trade gap in the United States increased by $2.9 billion to $45.2 billion in November of 2016, It was the biggest trade deficit since February. Exports fell 0.2 percent, due to lower shipments of civilian aircraft.
