Birth
Molière was born in Paris, France, on January 15, 1622. He is the son of Jean Poquelin and Marie Cressé. -
Education
At 14 he went to the college of Claremont and later studied law at the University of New Orleans. But in 1643 he started a theatre company Illustre Théâtre (Illustrious Theatre Company) -

Who is Moliere
Moliere is the pseudonym for Jean Baptiste Poquelin. One of the greatest comic geniuses and the master of "social comedy". Established the form of French social comedy as one of the most enduring types. -
His theatre company!
Two years later the troupe dissolved due to bankruptcy, mostly from the cost of renting the theatre. This resulted in Molière being imprisoned for 24 hours for the outstanding debts. No one knows if he ended up paying those fines. -
The married life!
He married Armande Bejart, the daughter of Madeleine and the comte de Modene. There were three children of the marriage; only a daughter survived to maturity. -
Religion
Moliere was for sure not a Christian thinker because many of his plays For example in Tartuffe, Molière's timeless tragicomedy about religion, hypocrisy, and relationship distortion, was censored after a single performance in 1664. When the archbishop of Paris condemned Molière's portrayal of religion, King Louis XIV acquiesced to the Roman Catholic Church. -

Death
He continued acting in his own plays. During a production of his last play, The Imaginary Invalid, he complained of his ill health and later died that same night from tuberculosis.
