After 23 years in power, Ali resigns. This is in response to protests. He procedes to flee to Saudi Arabia. -

Egyptions in Cairo take demonstrating to another level. Mass protests are organized for the first time. They demand Mubarak's resignition. -
Mubarak refuses to step down
Mubarak makes an appearance acknowleding protests, and refusing to step down. Simotaneously, protesters occupy Tahrir square. Telephone and internet lines are cut. -
Protesters Suffer Consequences
Protesters continue to demand government steps down. In response, police forces in Sudan take a stand against protesters. Students are beaten and arrested. -

As anti-government activits continue to protest, citizens are angered. In attempt to put an end to this rebellous attitude, thugs on camels and horses attack. This occurs in Tahrir square. -
Mubarak remains in Power
Mubarak stays strong through devastating protests. He makes a third TV appearance confirming the continuence of his reign. This does nothing but anger demonstraters further, and increase protesting crowds. -
Finally!
Vice president Omar Suleiman makes statement that the president resigned. The army council will run the country from that point further. Celebrations errupt.
