American go to France to speak to the high up people and to their surprise are greeted by other people demanding the American to pay them money or they wont allow them to speak to the high powered people. This bribery made Americans angry. (not sure of exact date, sometime between 1797 and 1798) -

The cause of this war was the policy of impressment that Great Britain seized on America. Impressment was where Great Britain captured American people and forced them to join the military and fight against America. -

This treaty is the treaty between the U.S. and Great Britain that was signed to end the War of 1812 -
