Jefferson purchased the Louisiana territory from Napoleon of France. The land had cost him 15 million dollars and it doubled the size of the nation. -

The law was passed by the US Congress and prohibited American ships from trading in foreign ports. Thomas Jefferson, who was president signed off on the law. -
War of 1812
The British would take American sailors off their ships and force them into British navy services this i called impressment and was the cause of the War that started in 1812. -
Treaty of Ghent
Peace treaty signed to end the war of 1812 between the US and Great Britian. Allowing the Great Lakes region to open up American expansion. -
Monroe Doctrine
The doctrine states that the US wouldn’t tolerate european intervention within North or South America. Any efforts made would be viewed as agressive actions.
