Wuchang Uprising
Collapsed the Quing Dynasty by intruducing the Xinhai Revolution and creating the Republic of China. The uprising was an accident spurred by bombs created by revolutionares in the Russian concession exploded.

Founding Date of the Republic of China
After the Chinese Civil War and after the Communists forces, lead by Mao Zedong, defeated the Kuomintang forces under the direction of Chiang Kaishek; Zedong declared the creation of the Republic of China.

Chinese Nationalists move Capitol to Taiwan
As the nationalists slowly begun to lose power to Zedong's communism, they saw it best fit to move to Taiwan and establish a new capitol. This act represented the "Two Chinas." -

The Seventeen Point Agreement for the Peaceful Liberation of Tibet is a document that was basically a mutual agreement between China and Tibet would remain peaceful.

May 16 Notification
Mao Zedong's government made it's debut on May 16th. This debut marked the start if the cultural revolution in China. At first, only high ranking officials got the notification but over the course of the year, the notification spread.

Nixon Visits China
Nixon opened the once locked doors to China. The President's visit resulted in early peace in Vietnam. However it also resulted in wariness in North Vietnam on account of fear the US and China would cut deals behind their back.

Gang of Four Arrested
The Gang of Four had a powerful influence in Chinese society towards the end of Mao Zedong's life. The "gang" was actually a political group led by Zedong's wife Jiangqing. Soon after Zedong's Death, the members were tricked into attending an emergency session of the Politburo and then arrested.
