Japan and China got into a war so Japan could expand its empire. Japan eventually wan taking over a part of China. -

Other countries came into China and chuncked it up into sections for its resources. The Chinese did not like this, so the boxers attemted to fight back. -
Open Door Policy
This policy was created to increase trade within China of the foreign countries.The main point was for the countries to make money. -
Communist Party Organized
The communist party was created and Beijing was named the capital of the equalized based party. -
The Long March
In an attemp to avoid attack Mao Zedong marched the long march. The march was as extensive as 50 miles long. -
Nationalists Flee
The Nationalists flee to Taiwan to set up a new national capital for the nationalist party. This also gives power to Mao to make a communist China. -
Great Leap Forward
The Great Leap Forward was an attemp to make China into a large steel producing country. It did not work and caused major famine and even canibalism. -
End of Alliance
The Soviet Unnion and China had lost trust in each other and decided to break their alliance. -
Cultural Revolution
Mao had tricked many teaans into withholding struggle sessions, or public himuliation, to bring down more privleged citizens or supporters of capitalism. These teens were known as the Red Guards. -
Nixon visits China
President Nixon visited China in attemped to create a treaty. -
Mao's death
Mao died in this year causing sadness in China and the end of the Cultural revolution. -
Tiananmen Square Massacre
The massacre was an attemp to stop protests in Beijing, China.
