King attended Crozer Theogical Seminary. He graduated in 1951. When he was done there he contuined his studies at Boston University. -
Civil Rights Struggle
Shortly after MLK Got his doctorate in theology, He became apart of Montgomery's civil rights struggle. He was apart of the Women's Political Council. -
KIng gets bombed
At this point they carried on with their boycotts. Since MLK was their leader, he was their responability. Dr. Kings house was bombed because he was their leader.The city also pressed charges for them boycotting. -
Rosa Parks
On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks was arrested. She was arrested because she didn't want to move to the back of a city bus. She thought that it wasn't fair that americans got more rights then african americans. -
The MIA was created
MIA stands for Montgomery Improvement Association. It was lead by african american leaders. -
MLK became MIA's Presidant
MLK was elected the President of the Montgomery Improvement Association (MIA). The mayor of Montgomery however, refused to talk to their representative (MLK) until they stopped their boycotts. -
Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC).
DR.King became the head chairmen of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. -
Stride Toward Freedom: The Montgomery Story
Dr. King came out with a book called Stride Toward Freedom: The Montgomery Story. It explains everything that happened including the bus incedent with Rosa Parks.
