Port Arthur Massacre
On 28th April, 1996 using a Colt AR-15 SP1 Carbine (semi-automatic rifle) Martin Bryant shot and killed 35 people and injured 53 others (including two children). Bryant had schizophrenia and it is believed the motive for the mass shooting was his father's suicide and the death of his friend Hellen. Bryant received 35 life sentences, plus 1,035 years in prison, without the possibility of parole for his crimes.
