    Some people during the Great Depression who were not educated on what was going on at the time blamed it on immigrants. Even though the great depression was not at all caused by immigrants there were still people who believed it was. They would believe that immigrants were stealing the few jobs that were available and would work for lower wages than regular Americans.

    The Displaced Persons Act created after world war 2 in order to help people who were negatively affected by the war. Over 400,00 people entered the US by 1952. Helping people escape Nazis.

    International Security Act in response to the cold war. Act was vetoed by president Truman because he said that the act was”the greatest danger to freedom of speech, press, and assembly since the Alien and Sedition Laws of 1798”

    Refugee Act made in response to refugees who fled from Vietnam during the war. The act was basically an amendment to allow refugees of the Vietnam war to come to the US.

    Immigration Reform and Control Act granted illegal immigrants amnesty. This act granted amnesty to illegal immigrants and made it so that employers cannot knowingly hire illegal immigrants.
