Assassination of Abraham Lincoln
Lincoln was assassinated 5 days after the Confederate army surrendered to the Union. He was shot in a theatre while watching a play by John Wilkes Booth. This was an attempt to revive the Confederate cause. -

September 11, 2001
On the morning of September 11, 2001 2 planes were high-jacked and flown into the Twin Towers in New York City. A third plane hit the Pentagon. A fourth was also planning to hit the White House people believe, but civilians took control and crashed it into a field. This was an act of terrorism and was what fueled the War On Terrorism.
