    This act gave the president the power to have the Natives move from the West side. They did this in exchange for the east lands.

    The trail of tears
    The Trail of tears was when the U.S took the land of many Native Americans. The Natives had to walk many miles to get to Indian Territory with a lot of suffering.
  • The Civil War

    The Civil War was a very bad and tragic war, it is considered one of the deadliest wars. This event occurred because of the North and the South of U.S were debating whether slavery should stay or go.
  • The Reconstruction Treaties

    The Reconstruction Treaties
    The U.S made treaties with the Native tribes. The U.S would give the Natives food and supply ,only if they gave up land or moved to new areas.
  • The Dawes Act

    The Dawes Act
    This act allowed the government to divide the Natives. They would separate the land and give it to individual Native Americans.
  • The Oklahoma Land Rush

    The Oklahoma Land Rush
    Men and women fled to claim farm land or purchase lands. This land they were claiming was Indian Territory.
  • The Indian Reorganization Act

    The Indian Reorganization Act
    This act gave Natives power over their land. This also allowed them to go back to their traditional culture.
