  • The Indian Removal Act

    The Indian Removal Act was passed by Andrew Jackson and required Southeastern Tribes to relocate to the land west of the Mississippi River.

  • The Trail of Tears

    The Trails of Tears happened because of the Indian Removal Act, Natives had to travel over 5,000 miles to present-day Oklahoma, and many Natives suffered and died.

  • The Civil War

    The Civil War was between the Confederacy and the Union, the war started because of differences between the two sides.

  • The Dawes Act

    The Dawes Act divided up reservation land into individual plots for ownership and made way for white settlement.

  • The Indian Reorganization Act

    The Act encouraged tribes to assimilate into white culture and encouraged them to create a constitution like the US one.
