World War II started with Adolf Hitler's invasion of Poland which led to the deadliest war in history. The war lasted six years as until the Nazi's and Japan was overcome in 1945. -
M&Ms were Created for the U.S. Army
When the United States entered war, M&Ms were sold to the army because they were easy to transport. After the war had ended, everyone was hooked on them and were sold worldwide. -
Germans Bomb Paris
The German air force flew into Paris on this day in 1940 with the intentions to destroy France's population, military, and economy. At this point they did not care who they were killing and most deaths were civilians and children. There were over 254 deaths. -
The Tripartite (Axis) Pact is Signed by Germany, Italy, and Japan
Germany, Italy, and Japan become allies with the signing of the Pact. This was to provide help to each other when they are attacked by a nation that is not already in war. The pact was to be "neutral" for the Americans to choose the right side. -
Nazi's Invade Greece and Yugoslavia
When the Nazi's invaded Yugoslavia they destroyed most of their village. Thad killed thousands of civilians and destroyed most of their aircrafts. On the same day the Nazi's had also invaded Greece. There, they bombed their port city of Piraeus. -
Nazis Order Jews to Wear Yellow Stars
Adolf Hitler orders that all Jews are to wear yellow stars on their left side of their coat. This was to isolate the Jews as they lead them to concentration camps. -

Hitler Declares War on the United States
Hitler declared war against the Americans which had now changed them to into the European conflict rather than "neutral. “The bombing of Pearl Harbor not only a surprise to the Americans but also to the Germans and the Japanese as well because Adolf just made an agreement with Japan that they would combine to fight against the United States. -
Germans take Vichy France
Because of the bombing of France in 1940 by the Germans, France had been split into two regions. One region was already occupied by themselves, the Germans, while the other region was not occupied. They had taken over the second region. -
Germans Surrender at Stalingrad
This battle had started a year earlier and had just surrendered. Though Hitler stated that surrendering was not an option, the Germans were no longer able to attack anymore.
