Bill gates drops out of Harvard uniersity and joins Paul Alllen to start a computer operating system. They form a partnership called "Microsoft. Their first operation was on the Altair 8800 computer.

Microsoft creates Microsoft disk operatig system (MS_DOS) This runs on IBM personal compuetrs. The software manages/ runs the computer hardware.

Microsoft introduces first version of windows. Rather than typing "MS_DOS" commands, you now have a mouse to point and click through screens. There is also drop-down menus, scroll bars and icon.

Microsoft releases windows 2.0. It has faster speed and expanded memory.
