It made massive improvements on the graphical user interface and initialized the "plug-and-play" feature. -
Windows NT4.0
Included windows shell and windows explorer. Had most things that 95 had. Mostly like font smoothing, full window drag, high color icons and stretching the wallpaper to fit the screen. -
Windows 98
Included more support to more ports like USB and ACPI. -
Windows 98SE
The second edition of windows 98. Added internet explorer, DiectX, and MSN messenger. -
Windows 2000
Increased support for mmore languages and locale information. Also added microsoft management console for easier maintemence. -
Windows XP
Massive graphical improvements. Also included product activation to reduce copywrite infringement. -
Windows Vista
This new version included an updated graphical user interface and visual style dubbed Aero, a new search component called Windows Search, redesigned networking, audio, print and display sub-systems, and new multimedia tools including Windows DVD Maker. -
Windows 7.0
Redesigned the taskbar and allowed programs to be pinned to it. And tweaks were made to the User Account Control system to make it less intrusive. -
Windows 8.0
Many changes where made to the user interface to make it more tablet friendly. I like to use windows 8, most people find it difficult to user, but you get used to it. -
Windows 8.1
Made after 8.0 to try to fix the critizism that was received at the launch of 8.0. Improvements included an improved Start screen, additional snap views, additional bundled apps, tighter OneDrive (formerly SkyDrive) integration, Internet Explorer 11, a Bing-powered unified search system, restoration of a visible Start button on the taskbar, and the ability to restore the previous behavior of opening the user's desktop on login instead of the Start screen. -
Windows 10
Combines the 7.0 start menu with the 8.0 start menu, which resulted in a pop-up menu of tiles. Also doesnt work very well with video games, ironicaly, they tried to tie the xbox one game console together with it.
