As a senior in High School, I was intent on never getting married, becoming an OBGYN and having children with IVF. In retrospect, I could not have looked at that many hoo-has on a continual basis

My cousin went in liver failure in October of 1998. I spent 2 months with her at CHOP. Upon interacting with the Nursing staff in the PICU, I came to the decision that I wanted to be an RN instead of OBGYN. I was inspired by the team of nurses who helped Courtney heal. -
Started my journey at Palomar Community College. I had a very off and on relationship with education at this point

School became an afterthought after having my first child. -
Obtained my Notary Public License as I worked full-time in an Escrow Office.

Alexander, my second baby was born and I started to think about going back to school -
Met with guidance counselors to formulate my plan to return and pursue Nursing School. I decided I needed to have my own career in order to be self-sufficient and monetarily independent. -
I decided to leave my part-time job in Real Estate and spend the next two years full-time with my boys, until I was accepted off the wait list and into the Nursing Program

After two years of being part time student, full-time mom, part time real estate assistant I finished my prerequisites for Palomar Nursing Program.

After a few years on the waiting list, I was finally beginning the next chapter of my life. -
Two years and an a new anxiety diagnosis later, I was fulfilling my dream -
Officially became an RN in the eyes of the State of California -
Became an RN on the Med-surg/Oncology floor at Hemet Hospital as a New Grad -
Needed to cut back on my commute and spread my wings, I took a job on the Step-down Unit at Temecula Valley Hospital -
Had my first of 2 surgeries on my torn rotator cuff.

After being in a car accident just 3 months after my surgery, I needed a second rotator cuff repair surgery.

After two surgeries and healing from that along with the death of my father, I decided to quit TVH -
Due to a weakened rotator cuff and life challenges, I needed change of pace to heal and be at peace. I began work at TCIM with my friend Lisa Moser, RN whom I had met during the Nursing Program. -
Here I am now, pursuing my BSN in nursing. I honestly was not sure I would ever do this. But at this point in my life, I need to be challenged and I need a goal. I want my boys to know their mom is a strong capable woman. -
I would like to eventually have a position as a teacher, helping other aspiring RN's along their own educational path.

It is a possibility, I may decide to pursue my MSN at some point.. -
