The Beginning
In 1066 the Normans (North Men) settled onto the coast of France where they began to develop practices that William introduced to England. With the development of these practices it helped spark the beginning of the Medieval period. One of William's most significant practices introduced was feudalism. Feudalism was a political and economic system where the hierarchy of power was based on on the idea that the kind owned all the land on the kingdom. -
1154
New Customs
In 1135 there had been a struggle between the barons and Henry the first's daughter Matilda and nephew after Henry the 1st's death. It was a struggle for who would inherit power. In 1154 is when Henry Plantagenet (Henry the 2nd), son of Matilda, took throne. When Henry the 2nd took throne he reformed the judicial system, established a system of juries, and even introduced the English common law. All of which making him one of England's most memorable rulers. -
1215
Limitations
Once Richard the 1st died his brother John came into power. After finding out that the royal treasury was bankrupt due to sea warfare, he was forced to sign the Magna Carta. This limited royal authority by granting more power to barons. This was a step towards democracy. -
1295
It Runs in the Family
John's son Henry the 3rd started to meet regularly with a council of barons (parliament). Under Edward the first the inclusion of commoners was established. -

A REVOLT!
After the plague epidemic a third of England's population was killed all during a war. The caused an uprising by peasants. -
1453
It is Finished
In 1453 the Hundred Years War had ended.But England had lost majority of their French possessions.There was also now a rivlry as two families tried to claim the throne. -
1485
It is Finished Pt. 2
The battle, Wars of the Roses, had ended. This was the battle for the throne. This battle ended with the death of Richard the 3rd. Then Henry the 5th took throne. And with this event marks the end of Medieval England.
