Nara Period
The Nara period, between 710 and 794 CE was when Japan was ruled by Emperors. The dominant Emperor of this period was Emperor Shōmu, who ruled over Japan from 724 to 749 CE. Mongols Invade Japan
The Mongolian Navy invade Japan from the east and try to take over the empire. Due to poor weather conditions however, it failed. They also tried to the same thing in 1281, but they failed agian because of poor weather conditions, with other factors contributing to the failure as well. -

Ashikaga Period
The Ashikaga Period is now considered tyo be the rise and fall of Fuedalism in medieval Japan. It started when the Kamakura and Kyoto central government collapsed in 1336, leaving the landlords to form their own governments. The Landlords then formed a veriation of the European Fuedal System, even though it wasn't as organised as the European version. -

Sengoku-Jidai: Period of Country War
This was when the Government of Japan was not in full controlof the country. The people of Japan were not happy with way the Shoguns ran the country, which then put the country into war. It then lead, after many wars, to the uniforcatio of political power under the Tokugawa Shogun. -

Trading With Portugal
Saint Francis Xavier, arrived in Japan. He then made Portuagl the first European country to trade with Japan. Portugal was the biggest Euriopean trading partner, or Japan. The Portugese later introduce Christianty into Japan, and they also give them the invention of the firearm. -

Tokugawa Period
The Tokugawa Period, or the Edo period, was when power was restored by the Tokugawa Shogun and the Japanese people were satisfied with their governments. It also invloved the Goverment moving for a third time in a millenimum to Edo, now known as Tokyo. -
Women Banned Onstage
The current Shogun at the time, banned anyone but adult males over the age of 18, to perform onstage. This was an example of the sexist things that happened in medieval times. -
Japan Becomes Independent
Sometime in the 1630. Japan broke all relationships and trade deals with every countries it was involved in. This was mainly done so Japan would be an independent country. -
Mt. Fuiji Erupts
After a large earthquake on the Japanese Island of Honshu (the main one), and several smaller after quakes, one of the largest Volcanos erupts, Mt Fuiji begins to become active. After 11 days of Mt Fuiji erupting, it finally ceases. There are then large bursts on the nights of the 25th and 27th, with the Eruption finally finishing on the 1st of January, 1708, 16 days after the first earuption and 65 days after the earthquake. -

Heian Period
In the Heian period, the Governmemnt was in heian, which is now known as Kyoto. In this time, there was much peace and no war, the Government spent most of the time creating the classic Japanese tranquill culture we now know today. They also imported things from China, grid street plans, language (with they adopted and changed), Buddhism and Confucianism. Even though these were imported in the 8th-10th century, the Heian period was when most of these things grew and were adopted by the people
